Conservation Week 2021

The DOC’s Conservation Week is 4-12 September this year and, while it’s a challenge to celebrate the Great Outdoors during lockdown, there are lots of ways that kids and their parents can say Thank You to Mother Nature and appreciate the beauty of Aotearoa.

Some of these activities below are part of MOTAT’s Better Smarter Greener project last year, but they’re still heaps of fun. And you might just help out the Earth some too, ’cause it could sure some love!

Gardens are good for you

Today, more humans live in cities than ever before. Global temperatures are rising, and climates are changing. Faced with the challenges of an increasingly industrialised world, gardens are more important than ever! Whether you have a single pot or an entire plot, we’ll show you some clever tips, tricks and techniques to create a lush and thriving green space of your own…whatever the size.
