Though we might be enjoying the summer weather, snow flurries were one of our favourites at last year’s MOTAT Christmas Lights. Since it’ll be a little hard to bring those to you this year, here’s a DIY version to make at home!
Prepare to live your White Christmas dreams!
Snow fall occurs when water vapour in the clouds form tiny ice crystals which join together to make snowflakes, becoming heavy enough that they fall through the clouds to earth.
You’ll only need two ingredients to make this snow, and by mixing them together it will cause an endothermic reaction which just so happens to make the results cold, by using the energy stored in heat!
This activity can get a little messy, so is best done outside.
Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
You Will Need:
- Shaving foam
- Baking soda
- Water, on standby
- A container and spoon for mixing
Step 1: Add 1 cup baking soda to your bowl.
Step 2: Add in a half a can of shaving foam.
Step 3: Mix together until the mixture has a crumbly and fluffy feeling. If it is too crumbly, add a little water!
Step 4: Play! That’s it, it’s so simple ❄️
Note: Your snow can be stored away for another day’s play!
